Our Story
Trio exists to help companies turn ambitious ideas into real products, while opening real career paths for exceptional software engineers across Latin America to work on teams building complex, high-stakes systems.
The Challenge
Before Trio became a company, there was a problem we kept running into.
In 2016, while working with startups in Boston, our founders struggled to find engineers who could deliver consistently, communicate clearly, and grow with the product instead of just shipping tickets.
Then a Brazilian engineer joined one of those teams and quietly raised the bar for everyone.
Exceptional talent wasn’t scarce. Access to it was.
What started as a single hire quickly turned into more companies asking the same question:
“Can you help us find engineers like this?”
That early group became known as Team Rio.
The System was broken
As Team Rio grew, the problem came into focus.
Traditional hiring moved too slowly. Freelance marketplaces felt unpredictable. Most staffing firms optimized for volume, not quality or continuity.
The gap wasn’t technical. It was structural.
High-stakes products require a higher standard
Many of the teams we supported worked in regulated, high-risk environments where mistakes carried real consequences. Over time, we became known for a few things that mattered a lot in those settings: reliability, security, and accountability from day one.
Exactly what our future fintech partners were looking for.
Focusing on fintech wasn’t pivotal. It was a natural evolution.
What we’ve built together
Today, Trio supports fintech and high-growth technology companies through nearshore development and outsourcing, with a focus on continuity and trust, not just speed.
This is steady, relationship-driven growth.
Built for the long term
Trio operates as a community of engineers and partners focused on solving real software problems, not short-term staffing gaps.
