When it comes to podcasts, there’s really something for everybody.

Whether you want to be deeply enthralled in a science fiction space opera or you’re seeking a bit of guidance through a business podcast, you won’t have any trouble finding what you need.

In recent years, podcasts have become more popular than ever before. They are yet another media form to absorb information and/or entertainment in a convenient way.

If you’re in the midst of building a start-up but you’re not quite sure where to…well, start, you’ve lurked onto the right article.

Here are 14 podcasts for entrepreneurs that will give you tips, tricks, and tools towards successful entrepreneurship!

1. The Tim Ferris Show

The Tim Ferris Show is a highly recommended podcast, offering many business tips and strategies exchanged through casual conversation.

During the show, Tim Ferris interviews a wide variety of guests. This often includes world-class professionals in various industries such as investing, sports, business, art, and more.

Throughout each podcast episode, he and eager listeners learn about the routine and tactics these guests use.

Favorite books, morning routines, time-management tricks, and exercise habits, are all laid out on the Tim Ferris table.

2. How I Built This with Guy Raz

How I Built This gives you a front seat to the stories behind the world’s most major companies.

Its value is in its authenticity. Entrepreneurs who come on How I Built This don’t talk about who they are. They talk about where they came from.

Guy Raz knows how to ask the right questions to get entrepreneurs talking so you can lean into the juicy stuff.

You’ll quickly learn why startups fail and what makes startups thrive.

3. Startup Stories – Mixergy

In Startup Stories, podcast host Andrew Warner reveals how startups came to be by diving deep into how startup founders ‘made it’.

There are a few well-known companies featured on the show but many of his interviews involve less-known companies.

This can add a refreshing touch to business talk as a whole, where I’m sure you’ve heard the same three stories in every other entrepreneur seminar you’ve attended.

You probably know Jeff Bezzo’s deal, but what about any plain ol’ John Doe?

4. StartUp

StartUp is a similar concept to Startup Stories, but its format is its main appeal.

The podcast uses a documentary style to tell compelling stories about numerous business ventures.

Created by Gimlet Media, a fair bit of the podcast discusses how Gimlet started their company, in which the founders share knowledge about what it takes to be an entrepreneur.

Later seasons of the podcast focus on other companies, and the stories are just as inspiring.

5. The GaryVee Audio Experience

After Elon Musk and Jeff Bezos, Gary Vaynerchuck is one of the most well-known individuals in the very successful people category of the United States.

Gary Vaynerchuck, also known as Gary Vee, started his by co-founding the restaurant reservation app, Resy with a humble software development team

After American Express acquired the app some years later, Gary Vee became (and remains) a prominent figure in the digital marketing world.

His podcast for entrepreneurs, The GaryVee Audio Experience, provides listeners with valuable insights and keynote speeches on marketing and business.

6. Entrepreneurs on Fire

Entrepreneurs on Fire is hosted by John Lee Dumas.

In it, he interviews successful entrepreneurs with the hopes to inspire listeners and give them strategies towards their own success.

Since the birth of the podcast, Dumas has interviewed over 2,000 entrepreneurs, including Neil Patel, Gary Vaynerchuk, and Tim Ferris.

Ironically, all of the listed entrepreneurs are podcast hosters themselves.

7. Masters of Scale

If hearing the small beginnings of a local environmental startup or a modest bakery with gluten-free muffins isn’t your thing, then maybe Masters of Scale is.

Masters of Scale always brings in big names. You have Susan Wojcicki from Youtube. Phil Knight from Nike. Brian Chesky from Airbnb. The list goes on.

The only drawback is that you probably won’t get much from this business podcast if you don’t already have your foot in the door in terms of entrepreneurial success.

Unfortunately, these high-performing people don’t give much guidance to startups that are underperforming.

8. Smart Passive Income

Smart Passive Income is exactly what it sounds like. Podcast host Pat Flynn interviews people from all walks of life — YouTubers, marketing pros, e-commerce stars, etc.

In the process, listeners learn surefire strategies for building passive income.

Smart Passive is best suited for those who are internet-savvy as blogging and online business-building are huge themes for the podcast.

Tim Ferris and Gary Vee have appeared on Smart Passive Income as well.

9. HBR IdeaCast

HBR IdeaCast is produced by The Harvard Business Review, a magazine that supplies readers with advice and strategy on all things business and management.

Hosts Alison Beard and Curt Nickish discuss similar topics on HBR IdeaCast, covering subjects ranging from networking to family businesses.

The podcast also hosts leading authors and thought leaders in the business realm.

10. How to Start a Startup

How to Start a Startup offers fresh, first-hand knowledge from Sam Altman and others at Y Combinator, a program that’s responsible for launching over 3,000 companies, including Airbnb and DoorDash, to name a few.

It should go without saying that this business podcast can tell you a thing or two about running a business.

Lucky for you, they have quite a few things to say about a number of business-related issues, such as:

  • How to come up with ideas
  • How to raise money
  • How to grow your base
  • How to do sales and marketing

In sum, this podcast is a valuable resource for entrepreneurs who really mean business.

11. Recode Decode with Kara Swisher

Kara Swisher was once described as Silicon Valley’s “most powerful tech journalist.”

She previously worked at the Wall Street Journal giving input on the tech, business, and culture of Silicon Valley.

Now, she’s at the New York Times, focusing on tech in their “Opinion” section.

As much as Swisher is a ferocious writer, she’s doing great work with her voice too.

On Recode Decode, Switch hosts and interviews business experts, politicians, tech executives, and anybody else who seems to be on the brink of changing the world.

And listeners get to hear their big ideas and what exactly they’re doing with them.

Swisher’s ruthless journalism style is apparent in every podcast episode.

12. The James Altucher Show

On the James Altucher Show, James Altucher finds the peak performers from every avenue of life from rappers to billionaires to comedians.

He then digs deep into their psyche in an attempt to get a peek at their “Choose Yourself” story.

This is where Altucher and listeners alike hear how these influential people found the means to make the lives they have today.
